Design principles applied through heat and grain.
I work in pyrography as a material-driven extension of my design practice. Each burn is a single, deliberate mark—no erasing, no shortcuts. The same focus on line, negative space, and structure that informs my visual design guides this work.
Pyrography sharpens my understanding of visual rhythm. Working with real grain forces absolute clarity in layout and pressure. Mistakes are permanent, which demands control long before execution—planning, sketching, and calibrated hand movement.
This practice refines my design process by enforcing focus and restraint.
